I know for sure that during the decline of the Roman Empire there seemed to be a higher incidence of earthquakes, and there was a global climate change, too (cooling). Julian the Philosopher have to deal with several earthquakes and their consequences during his short rule; too bad he did not rule for more than 3 years or so, by the way. But after the Maunder minimum period I do not find any source to claim a higher incidence of earthquakes.
